Convex Plastic-Coated Bearing Roller

A custom bearing roller with a convex round-edge profile for curved tracks, guided sliding systems and compact mechanical assemblies

This convex plastic-coated bearing roller combines a precision ball bearing with a moulded engineering-plastic outer layer. Its outward-curved running surface differs from a U-groove or round-groove wheel: instead of locating a raised rail inside a groove, the convex profile runs against a matching concave track, curved guide surface or shaped channel.

The rounded edge can reduce contact at the sides of the track when the roller and guide are correctly matched. It also allows the wheel to move more smoothly through applications where a flat roller does not provide the required contact geometry.

We manufacture the profile according to the customer’s track, drawing or existing sample. The outer diameter, wheel width, curve radius, bearing bore and plastic material can all be adjusted for the installation.

Is this an R-groove roller?

This product has a convex R-profile rather than a concave groove. An R-groove wheel normally has an inward-curved channel that runs on a raised round rail. This roller has an outward-curved running surface for a matching recessed or shaped track.
Which plastic should we choose?
POM is commonly selected for dimensional stability, wear resistance and smooth movement. Nylon can provide good toughness. PU offers a softer contact surface and can help reduce vibration. Final selection depends on the load, temperature, speed and working environment.
Can you manufacture the roller according to our track?
Yes. Please provide the track section, curve radius and installation dimensions. We can compare them with our existing profiles or develop a customised wheel.
Can you supply a complete roller assembly?

How to Choose

    Confirm the Track Shape

    Provide a sectional drawing or a clear photo of the track. A convex wheel normally requires a matching recessed, curved or shaped contact surface.

    Do not select this profile only by outside diameter. The contact radius determines how the wheel sits inside the track.

    Specify the Profile Radius

    The R dimension should match the working surface of the track. A radius that is too large may cause edge contact. A radius that is too small may concentrate the load in the centre.

    Confirm the Installation Dimensions

    Please provide:
